在過去職涯成功的研究領域中,大多以人格特質、積極主動性、智力來做為預測員工職涯成功的因素。而社會支持在個人職涯的發展過程中,亦扮演著十分重要的角色。我們對於職涯成功人士的印象,往往是具有高學歷,在知名企業擔任白領階級的經營管理者;或是具有專業技術,能夠憑藉此技術獲得高收入的族群。然而,保險業務員與房仲人員的進入門檻低,不必擁有過人的聰明才智或傲人的學經歷也能進入。雖然這兩個產業的流動率很高,但能在這兩個業務領域有良好發展的從業人員,收入是十分可觀的。
Duckworth (2007)提出恆毅力的概念,認為一個人之所以能夠成功,主要是對於目標的長期熱情與堅持的投入。過去較少學者研究恆毅力、職涯成功及社會支持三者間的關係。故本研究透針對30-45歲的保險業務與房仲人員,透過問卷調查的方式,共蒐集了101份保險業務員的有效問卷、102份房仲人員的有效問卷。經由本研究結果發現:(1)恆毅力對業務人員的職涯成功有顯著的正向影響;(2)社會支持對業務人員的職涯成功有顯著的正向影響;(3)社會支持對恆毅力與業務人員的職涯成功有部分干擾效果
Abstract
From the past researches on career success, personal characteristics, activeness and IQ were main factors to anticipate whether or not an employee would create a successful career. But in the process of a person's career, social support also plays a significant role that shouldn't be neglected. Talking about a person that has a successful career, we are easily able to associate with a white-collar manager who acquired high diploma and takes an important position at a famous enterprise. Or, it also occurs to us that someone owns a specific expertise in the field to be well paid. However, an insurance company or a real estate agency does not set up high entrance requirements, and those chosen candidates can later become an insurance agent or a real estate agent without being extraordinarily intelligent nor acquiring great diploma. Although these two industries have a high turnover of staff, those who stay and consistently create good sales performance are known to be greatly rewarded.
Duckworth (2007), who emphasized the importance of “Grit”, indicated that a person's success is mainly from the lasting passion and perseverance towards his or her goal. In the past, comparatively few scholars made a research on the connection among “Grit”, “Career Success” and “Social Support”, thus this research, through valid questionnaire surveying 101 insurance agents and 102 real estate agents who age 30~45, shows a detailed analysis on the connection among the 3 factors. From the result of this research, it's found that (1) a positive correlation exists between grit and the career success of a sales representative (2) a positive correlation also exists between social support and the career success of a sales representative. (3) social support has a certain level of interference on grit and the career success of sales representative.
