Abstract
With the rise of social networking, people spend more time on electronic interaction, so the experience of social media has become one of the important links that affect our thoughts and behaviors. However, the real-time responsiveness of social media and the high-speed switching of interfaces is easy to destroy the user's sustained attention and endurance, and according to research, Instagram, which is popular among young people, is a social platform with pictures as the main and with powerful tags, beautification and filter functions, which is more likely to cause negative emotions. For example, physical shame, anxiety, and depression, and the high self-monitoring personality traits will make people more inclined to adjust their performance behaviors with the outside world. Therefore, they are positively related to career, social, and learning effectiveness, but relatively speaking, people with high self-monitoring traits spend more time on electronic interaction. Individuals will be more concerned about the vision and evaluation of others and lead to negative emotions. Therefore, this study investigated Instagram’s use of behavior and self-monitoring ability in an online questionnaire. Interaction with negative emotions to understand the possible causes of negative emotions in the use of social media. What is the relationship between self-monitoring and usage behaviors?
The results of the questionnaire pointed out that excessive mobile phone use and evasive reality of Instagram use behaviors are positively correlated with depression, and people with high self-monitoring traits will invest in socializing and visiting behaviors on Instagram. However, high self-monitors People who tend to be afraid of being hurt by external comments will have a significant positive correlation with the use of Instagram to evade reality. Conversely, the more confident high self-monitors have no relevance to the escapism of reality.
