Abstract
In recent years, there are numerous start-ups have risen in various parts of the world, and more and more countries have begun to pay attention to the development of this emerging trend. In the era of globalization, national competitiveness not only relies on domestic developments but also being derived from international collaborations through cross-border resource and knowledge exchanges, facilitating the internationalization of new ventures. The purpose of this study is to explore how international networking affects the growth and survival of start-ups, in particular how entrepreneurial orientation is improved/ impeded by international networking. Based on the qualitative research method via in-depth interviews with an international incubator La French Tech and two start-ups, the findings of this study reveal that international networking is beneficial for start-ups in extending their businesses abroad, seeking potential cooperative partners, attaining resources, funding and capital, and increasing their exposure in the global market. This study provides incremental contributions to the international entrepreneurship literature that international networking plays a positive role in achieving and maintaining successful start-ups.
