This study select marriage equality and abolition of the death penalty as the research target and explore the effect of reported position (positive, negative, balance) and majorities of citizen opinion (approval, opposition, no idea) to the echo chamber effect and spiral of silence. Opinion polarization, fear of isolation and political efficacy are the moderators in this study.
Using logistic regression for data analysis. The results show that majority of citizen opinion will result in echo chamber and spiral of silence, and opinion polarization will mediate the relationship between the majorities of citizen opinion to the echo chamber effect.
