Title Shared leadership and team performance in the hospitality industry: Assessing the mediating role of knowledge sharing and cohesion

  • Abstract This study surveyed 72 management teams in hotels and restaurants in Taiwan to examine the intervening roles of knowledge sharing and team cohesion in the relationship between shared leadership and team performance. Team performance was measured from supervisor, and shared leadership, knowledge sharing and team cohesion was measured by team members. In this research to overcome CMV problem, this study split the team member’s data into two halves. First half to measure shared leadership, and the remaining half to calculate knowledge sharing and team cohesion. Results showed that shared leadership was positively related to both knowledge sharing and team cohesion. This study didn’t found a significant correlation between shared leadership and team performance, and also there is no relationship between knowledge sharing and team cohesion with team performance.
