Title Effect of Cold Rolling Reduction on the through-thickness Texture Evolution in Non-oriented Electrical Steel during Annealing Treatment

  • Abstract In this study, the influence of cold rolling reduction on the recrystallization textures of non-oriented electrical steel (NOES) sheet was studied. The microstructures and textures of the specimens were analyzed by electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) in order to understand the evolution of recrystallization microstructures and textures of the NOES.
    The results of macrotexture and microtexture show that the higer cold-rolled reduction process causes the higer α-fiber fraction and high angle boundaries (HABs) fraction. Comparing the annealed structure of different cold-rolled reduction process, it shows that the fraction of Goss orientation in 50% cold-rolled specimen is higher than 85%, 90% cold-rolled specimen, and 85%, 90% cold-rolled reduction process enhance the fraction of {111} <112> orientation.
