  • Abstract The classical Chinese function word ‘er’ is a common and important word in classical Chinese Language Education. But grammar teaching is unclearly in Chinese teachers’ classes. Teachers and students usually rely on traditional exegesis. To help they learn the function words. Sometimes the classical function word ‘er’ doesn’t translate into mandarin. It’s not easy for students to interpret it. This study likes to assist students to read the classical Chinese function ‘er’ by a clearly and simply formation.
    The study will analyze the conjunction ‘er’ in the main classical Chinese literature. Pick up typical sentences in senior high schools lessons, and explain them in a simple way. At last, proposing teaching strategies to teachers who in need.
