  • Abstract At a time when various domestic training institutions are offering a variety of courses, which of these courses do operators and managers think are actually of benefit to and meet the needs of students? Are trainees satisfied with the teachers, facilities and processes and service resources provided? Which marketing method is the most effective? These are all questions that education and training institutions in Taiwan should attach importance to.
This study used a questionnaire to understand the factors that affect trainees’ choice of high-level training courses, with trainees who have attended high-level education and training at a domestic statutory body as the samples. As well as analyzing the characteristics of the samples, eight variables were taken as the basis of the formulation of the questionnaire, namely study motive, preferred class period, preferred class time, preferred class form, the items emphasized by course service planning, course fee, advertising method, and future required courses. 230 valid responses were received. Conclusions on these eight variables were achieved through descriptive statistical analysis.
Results showed that the main motive for senior business managers attending such courses was to increase self-value, with increasing personal connections as a secondary consideration; the class forms preferred by senior business managers were mainly experience sharing and enterprise observation, showing fast-food type study thinking; as for areas of learning needed in the future, the main choice was strategic planning type courses, showing that, with enterprises facing an ever changing operating environment, senior managers need the ability to ponder over directions to break through difficulty, business to break through difficulty and enterprise transformation strategy.
In contrast to the requirements of senior business managers, most education and training institutes in Taiwan still mainly use traditional lecture methods. Although case study discussion and practical discussion and other methods are used to make learning more diverse, the question of whether the thought mode of these education and training institutions is keeping up with the changes in environment and business needs is worthy of deep thought.
