  • Abstract Because of the great advancement of communication technologies, people have more choices to contact with each other. The common communication modes nowadays include telecommunications service, IP telephone, and communication apps. However, most of the communication systems are based on PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network) that means the stability depending on the whole network. Even though VoIP(Voice over IP) is a packet-switching technology, its stability also depends on the Internet. However, in case the telephone system has broken down, or the Internet is unavailable, none of the above common communications could work.
     To solve the problem, we proposed an independent communication system based on a proprietary small cell that has been installed light EPC(Evolved Packet Core Networks) software and MQTT(Message Queuing Telemetry Transport) system. Then we design a communication app which can contact with small cell via MQTT. By using proprietary small cell and developing the app, we can set up an independent communication system which can work with or without Internet.
