  • Abstract With the growing use of electric vehicle (EV), the energy management and EV charging pricing strategy are needed in the EV charging station operations. Charging facilities fast charging station, community, workspace, shopping mall parking lots and households offer the charging energy for EV. Using game theory, this thesis discusses the issues of how to design pricing strategy to increase operation benefit and satisfy EV charging demand according to user’s charging behaviors and facilities in the charging station. Four different charging stations, including fast charging station, community, workspace and shopping mall parking lot charging stations are considered in this research. EV charging behaviors of above four charging station scenarios are assumed according to actual operation data to establish EV charging demand model. Based on temporal and spatial EV charging demands, a Bargaining Game is designed to share a contracted capacity of a load aggregator who owns different types of charging stations. By simulating the response of charging demand to different price schedules, a nested game is proposed to provide next-day charging price schedule and maximize profit of a charging station with a allocated contracted capacity. Lastly, a multi-objective optimization game is presented to perform real-time power management of the charging station. The impact of EV charging demands to distribution network is also investigated.
