  • Abstract Abstract
    The Ti-Co-Ni and part of Ti-Pt-Ag 800oC equilibrium phase diagram determined by the diffusion couples and alloys equilibrium methods.
    The phased formed in the diffusion layers and the alloy equilibrium samples are identified by using electronic microprobe (EPMA) and X-ray analysis techniques.
    In the Ti-Co-Ni alloy system, there are six three-phase equilibrium as, (1)Ti(Co,Ni)-TiNi3-T, (2)Ti(Co,Ni)-T-TiCo2(c), (3)TiCo2(c)-T-TiCo3, (4)TiCo2(c)-TiCo2(h)-TiCo3, (5)TiNi3-T-γ(Co,Ni) and (6)T-TiCo3-γ(Co,Ni) determined in the 800oC equilibrium. One ternary phase (T phase) found as Ti(Co,Ni)3.
    In Ti-Pt-Ag 800oC system, we found the difficulty to prepare a homogenous alloys by using an Arc furnace. The Arc-prepared Pt-Ag binary or Ti-Pt-Ag ternary alloys exist the serious Ag segregation. Therefore only the Ti rich region of the Ti-Pt-Ag alloy system are reported in this study.
