||I collected much paper and patent publication about folding, and then classify those data. I found most rollator in a single direction folding, unable to minimize the volume. And rollators in market are folded inconveniently. This paper focuses on this problem and design two kinds of Electric Folding Rollator. Folding steps can be reduced, reducing the volume after folding, and enhance the quality of life of older people.|
After receiving the concept of the convertible top and knowhow of X type mechanism connection, and drawing the structure of rollator by Pro/E software. Making sure mechanism are folded in expected way. In order to prove that the walker is stable, this study follows CNS standards, simulating the stability and loading test of rollator. After all standards are passed, simulating the movement of rollators with motor, and confirmed the feasibility of electric folding. Finally, I know the handles should be designed in the between of the front and rear wheels from stability analysis, and close to users will be more stable. After comparison, I found the volume and folding efficiency of the convertible top and X type mechanism rollator are better than general type. Therefore, the design of electric folding rollator do have the development potential.
