  • Abstract Keith Davis considers enterprises would take some of the decisions and actions on corporate social responsibility into public interest. In the long-term perspective, these actions would have returns in the long run. Under the expectation of community to corporate social responsibility, both profit and non-profit organizations try to response. How to do corporate social responsibility in a more commercial way and seek for sustainable development becomes critical issue to organizations. Organization needs to maintain its nature of social service, it must give attention on both social and economic objectives to avoid excessive profit, and lose the original mission.
    Using case studies, this research targeted three public welfare activities, which were sampled purposely to conduct an in-depth interview to explore the social effect of public welfare activities conducted by non-profit organization. And the results appears as follows:
    1. The public welfare activities of non-profit organization can contribute to the society on both social and economic sides.
    2. Non-profit organization can boost its efficiency and effectiveness through resource integration, this can optimize the effect of public welfare activities.
    3. In education, environmental protection, physical education, community service, society welfare, medical insurance, art and culture these seven categories of charity, public welfare activities can benefit the society and bring positive effect on social and economic sides.
