  • Abstract Objective:
    Taiwan, continued aging of the population, can be expected to total knee arthroplasty people will increase. In this study, the diagnosis related group as the main import , investigate hospitalization before and after it is implemented, and examine whether effective use of resources and control costs and enhance quality of care.
    Method:
    The data from the National Health Insurance Research Database , collected 2009 to 2010 and 2011 to 2012. Apply Health Behavioral Model, analysis length of hospital stay and medical costs of TKR , and according to ICD9CM_CODE of postoperative complications.
    Result:
    Tw-DRGs after implementation , length of hospital stay significantly reduced ; medical costs are partly to reduce spending. On the performance of complications , anemia, venous thrombosis and peptic ulcer was growing trend.
    Conclusion:
    The intervention Tw-DRGs , urge the government to make health-care system and the promotion of patient instructions should have a clear direction , so that patients get the care and quality more perfect.
