  • Abstract Since the 2008 Financial crisis, the world economy has been very slow and the BDI index has been devastated by the impact of the shipping industries performance in the bulk trade markets and likewise the global ocean - going tug markets, particularly with its "New Generation Type Tug " trend to constantly enhance the tug's multi functionality. This has produced a 'High Value - Added Tug" category, which seriously affects the companies market competitiveness, whilst utilizing the traditional tug.
    In this case study of the Ocean towing and salvage industry, AMC company is seeking the industry business model and strategic positioning through in - depth interviews with experts, after comparing the markets existing competitors and the their introduction of offshore industry service satisfaction, with their key success factors to save on their "oligopoly" and "High Entry Standards" which feature in their present business plan and proposed future trends.
    In the difficult conditions of high - risk vessels handling and low Centre of Gravity, structural design of high stability and the emphasis on operational efficiency and the use of economic planning of the ship, the most important task for the company to reduce operating costs and organizational restructuring and looking for new markets, only in the right direction and effective business model and strategic direction for the company's competitive advantage to remain unbeaten, is a prerequisite for sustainable development and offer the hope to continue to push through existing resources, will be a viable strategy, with efficient allocation of resources to enhance the overall competitive advantage, achieve strategic objectives and global business opportunities.
