  • Abstract IoT is going to be the leading trend in the future which would greatly change our living style, which is just like how smart phone changes our life. For IoT, most of us have just started to explore this new world. For Taiwan, Computer hardware design and manufacture knowhow has always been our strength in the past 20 years. However, IoT structure will not be develope only by hardware, but also by software and platform service. Furthermore, it cannot be developed only by one company, but it needs numerous companies to co-work in order to make it happen. 
    This study is to analyze the business strategy of ‘’A’’ company, the leading company in embedded industry field, to engage IoT applications. Therefore, this study is going to elaborate on the following three points: First, to introduce the IoT concept to clarify what it is and what it would bring to us; Second, to evaluate what kind of business strategy and technology development ‘’A’’ company should focus at the moment to be well-prepared for IoT; In addition, to briefly introduce the management concept of how to drive a company from good to great.
    Based on ‘’Porter five forces analysis’’ and ‘’SWOT anlysis’’, we exmaine all the pros and cons of ‘’A’’ company. Besides, we are going to study whether Industiral PC companies have the strength to engage IoT applications compaing to the others such as consumer industry companies. Finally, we will make conclusion and business proposal to ‘’A’’ company. This study also could be a reference for the other companies who have intention to engage IoT applications.
