Under such opportunities and challenges, Taiwan enterprises have gradually increased the demand for expatriates, mainly due to adopt dispatch to enhance enterprise mobility and flexibility achieved to reduce costs and risks and thus effectively reach replication and expansion of competitiveness in other overseas markets. However, expatriates stationed in the country after the assignment, adapt in psychological, life,culture and work or not, will seriously affect the company's operations and individual performance .It can be seen, the expatriates adaptation will be the enterprise internationalization, globalization is an important key to success.|
This study aims to analyze expatriates adaptation of Taiwan company in automotive electronics industry , and to find out the adaptation factors, these factors covered all possible variables in four dimensions such as expatriate work adjustment, acculturation, psychology adaptation and adaptation of life , by the literature Review and Focus Interview to stracture a assessment criteria of expatriates adaptation , and then through the expert survey and the use of decision analysis laboratory (DEMATEL) to analyze the causal relationship between the evaluation criteria, in order to effectively establish expatriates abroad to adapt the key factor in assessment.
Through this study, we can know "the stay time of expatriate" , "interpersonal adaptation", "language adaptation", and "adjustment of living with local people " four factors is the important key factors to assess suitability for the expatriates factors that will directly affect other factors. In the studies of expatriates dispatched in different country, we can see that there are still highly relevant in the adaptation factors, "the stay time of expatriate" and "language adaptation" are important. In the studies of length of experience of expatriates , there is no same result, young expatriates emphasis on "adaptation on environment expected " and "language adaptation," senior expatriates may be because the duty of family , is more emphasis on "the stay time of expatriates". These results can provide multinational automotive electronics industry and related company in the future to establish an important
benchmark in assessing expatriates adapt to reduce the losses cost of maladaptive multinational expatriates , and thus enhance the international competitiveness of multinational companies .
