There are spatial data management and analysis functions in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), but general management Information Systems, computer design and drawing system do not have. Therefore, construct a Geographic Information Systems that contain cadastral data and can be compared to the status quo, to effectively manage and use of real estate is very important.|
In this study, choosing Kaohsiung port as the subject of case study, investigates the development process and help on importing Geographic Information Systems aided Harbor Asset management. Research using the Geographic Information Systems expansion capability links related open map data, and updates geographical information technology, so that each business user can easily to integrate geographic information, and apply to other value-added services in order to achieve more diverse efficiency, to further assist the management and operation of port.
The study discovers that the integration of GIS and asset management systems database helps the port operator to acquire the extent of the port, location of port facilities, status quo as well as asset register data rapidly and accurately. In addition, on this map data platform, it can be expanded the other functions and value-added services. The goal of the research is to provide references or suggestions in further GIS implementation for port operator.
