  • Abstract Abstract
    The purpose of this study is to understand the current status among the elementary school teachers’ parent-child relationship, work pressure and well-being, to sense the different behavior on parent-child relationship, work pressure and well-being by analyzing the background variables, and to explore the connection among parent-child relationship, work pressure and well-being. Questionnaire survey is applied to achieve the purpose with “Parent-child Relationship Questionnaire”, “Work Pressure Questionnaire” and “Well-being Questionnaire” as research tools. The way of stratified purposive sampling is used to select the formal teachers as subject,married with children from 22 public elementary schools in northern, central, southen, and westen Kaohsiung total 9 areas in 2014. 450 questionnaires were developed and distributed to the elementary school teachers, and 428 valid questionnaires were collected and organized. The valid return rate is 95.1%. After collection of survey samples, the researcher put the raw datum into the models, such as descriptive statistics, the t-test of independent samples, analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis, to run the procession of analysis. The results of the study were as following:
    1. The parent-child relationship of the elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City is in the medium high level among which the emotional attachment has the highest scores.
    2. The work pressure of the elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City is in the medium level among which the teacher role expectations has the highest scores.
    3. The well-being of the elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City is in the medium high level among which the relationships has the highest scores.
    4. Teachers with different age, teaching positions and marital status show significant difference of the parent-child relationship.
    5. Teachers with different gender,age, teaching positions, family structure, marital status and number of children show significant difference of the work pressure.
    6. Teachers with different gender,age and marital status show significant difference of the well-being.
    7. The parent-child relationship of the elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City has important positive with the well-being.
    8. The work pressure of the elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City has low negative with the well-being.
    9. After controlling the work pressure factors, the parent-child relationship of the elementary school teachers in Kaohsiung City is predictable to the well-being.
    Finally, according to the conclusions of the study mentioned above, the suggestions of the research also would be proposed to the elementary school teachers, the school administrative unit, the educational authority, and the future researchers.
