| Abstract |
On International trade，Shipping is the most common and economic way to transport goods，especially for large heavy cargo and long range voyage，Taiwan is one of the major economy in Asia and deeply rely on import and export goods through shipping ，as an island country，lack of natural resource，also heavily depend on importing various kinds of natural resource like oil、natural gas and minerals by shipping。Because of the history and background of the development of Taiwan economy，the shipping industry in Taiwan is also very well developed and not as small as the island，especially in container line and bulk carrier，have several renowned shipping company in the world，like Evergreen ，Yan Ming and Wan Hai for container and U Ming、Taiwan Navigation 、Wisdom Marine and Shih Wei navigation，and Shipping industry is kind of like the head of a train，pull upper and lower business such as Ship building 、Engine、Onboard navigation system、variety kind of ship equipment and store supply…etc.，very wide range and connected， have great contribution and play an important role on international trade as well as economy，also create lots of job opportunity。In this article，
The research is focus on shipping-related industry and investigation on container、bulk carrier and nautical charts & publications sectors and
choose one company from each sector as case study。
Seventy percent of earth surface is covered by sea，vessel sail on such vast of water area will be easily lost or sail wrong direction without the aid of proper and accurate guiding information and equipment。For hundreds years of development from can only depend on celestial and shore for guidance to copy the idea of map used on land to make nautical chart ，it is one of the great important invention for sea navigation，detailed drawing the coast line and recording various kind of hydrographic information，with the development of navigation technology and usage of ocean ， information on the Charts become more and more sophisticated，and even go to digital from paper which has been used for hundreds of years 。Nautical Charts and related publications are very important for safety of navigation and can assist ship to arrive destination in the shortest course。Collection and production of modern navigation data is complicated and require high level technology，with large number of vessels sailing on the sea and personnel working on it ，a united international organization to make related laws and regulations of management is also needed，to assure the safety of sea transportation to ocean environment and people ，now there have several major international organizations have involved in publishing nautical data and make related regulations ，like IMO and UKHO …etc.。 |
