  • Abstract The sponge Cinachyrella australiensis is widely distributed in the Pacific Ocean rims.It can be found in intertidal pools in Wanlitong,Kenting,Taiwan.Previous studies indicate that the sponge contains chemoautotrophic several sulfur-oxidizing symbiotic bacteria.In this styudy, sulfur metabolism and calvin cycle genes were amplified by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) using the primers homologous to sulfur-oxidizing bacteria.The resulting products were purified and cloned.About 50 clones were randomly selected and sequenced for each gene.By BLAST,the most similar bacteria of dissimilatory sulfite reductase (dsr) gene is Thioalkalivibrio sulfidophilus HL-EbGr7、sulfur-oxidizing (sox) gene is Rhodovulum adriaticum strain DSM 2781、ATP sulfurylase (sat) gene is Thioalkalivibrio nitratireducens DSM 14787,adenosine phosphosulfate reductase (apr) gene is Thioalkalivibrio,
    gyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase (g3pdh) gene is Burkholderia. All the most similar bacteria of dsr、sox、sat、apr genes are chemoautotrophic sulfur-oxidizing bacteria.Clavin cycle gene g3pdh of the most similar bacteria is chemoautotrophic parasitic pathogen.Predict the dominant bacteria genes sequnce by amino sequence analysis.By sequence analysis,suggesting there are chemoautotrophic sulfur-oxidizing symbiotic bacteria in the Sponge,Cinachyrella australiensis.
