||The practical value of GCDF certification in China|

Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF)
||Due to the rapid development of China's market economy in last 30 years, the Government begins to pay attention to career consulting industry that leads to the need of professional career facilitators in China society increased. Now, there are lots of professional facilitator training programs and derivative certificates in China. Some of them are set by foreign organizations and are introduced to China. Since the system and standards of career facilitator have not been established yet, those who want to join and engage this occupation will inevitably encounter the problem of how to choose the program and certificate.|
This study investigates the practical value of the Certificate of Global Career Development Facilitator(GCDF) in China. I used semi-structured interviews to collect data. The data providers are those who had participated in the GCDF training program and had obtained the certificate of GCDF in China.
The results show that those who obtained certificate of GCDF have not gotten benefits on their salary, employment, and promotion. Such outcomes are result from 1) the certificate of GCDF have not been recognized by this industry in China, 2) the job requirements in their organization are not the same as the requirements of GCDF, 3) the follow-up programs of GCDF are short of.
