Abstract
In terms of corporate organization management, how the department effectively manages the composition of the team members to improve the team’s performance is a very important issue. This study found that although the diversity of team composition is becoming more and more important to the issue of team performance, so far, except for a few scholars who have analyzed the impact of team composition diversity on team performance, most researchers have paid little attention to the impact of team diversity on team performance in a mixed motivation team; therefore, the author believes that by targeting on a mixed motivation team where competition is greater than cooperation, to analyze the effect of age diversity and nationality diversity on team performance ; this result can be used to improve the information on the effect of team composition on team performance in different types of team backgrounds. And further use it as a signal for companies to infer productivity and potential in the department characterized by complex mixed-motivation teams, and change its value.
We use the Poisson regression model to analyze the date from the Transfermarkt(TM) database, the observation period of the British football team is selected for a total of 10 years from 2006 to 2015, in the annual September quarter game record , The first-level football team (a total of 20 teams), and the second-level football team (a total of 38 teams), a total of 58 football teams, international competition data, and a total of 14,698 team members in Transfermarkt (TM) The registered demographic information is used as the sample data for this research. The research results show that: (1) In a mixed motivation team where competition is greater than cooperation, age diversity has no positive effect on team performance; (2) In a mixed motivation team where competition is greater than cooperation, nationality diversity has a positive effect on team performance Impact. In other words, in the mixed-motivated team model where competition is greater than cooperation, the higher the diversity of nationality, the higher the performance results of the team. However, this study does not support the hypothesis that age diversity is positive for team performance.
