Abstract |
The original intention of this research came from curiosity about the trend of Taiwanese businessmen going mainland China in the 1990s. Further more, we explored the issues of entrepreneurship through entrepreneurs in that era. In the past, the research on entrepreneurial issues was either based on the functions of the economy or focused on the characteristics of the individuals then were privileged by some people, or focused on external environmental factors (recognition of opportunities), etc. These are all subject to empirical science. The impact of entrepreneurial variables is reduced into various independent entities for analysis while ignoring the complexity and integrity of entrepreneurship. As a result of de-contextualization, entrepreneurship becomes a well-designed arrangement, or a sudden idea from heaven, that becomes a particular phenomenon in which entrepreneurial knowledge is regarded as an input-output fuel for production and sold in cram schools on the street. From the perspective of Heidegger's phenomenology, this research attempts to bring entrepreneurship back to the life-world , presenting the common people's level of concern for beings in the context of entrepreneurship. This research takes people born in the 1960s as the research objects. By the collection of life story narratives and through the perspectives of the research objects, the appearance and personal feelings in the life-world of that era are presented, in order to understand the whole relationships between worldiness (environmental context) and historicality(temporal context) with beings during the process of entrepreneurship. From this research, we found that in the 1990s, based on the satisfaction of the Da-sein’s needs for life and survival, the economic world was constructed by instrumentalizing the people and things around life-world. Entrepreneurship represents a entrepreneuring spirit that transcends entrepreneurship itself. Entrepreneurial knowledge is the phronesis of indi understanding and self-interpretation in the process of practice. The fashion of Taiwanese businessmen going mainland China in the 1990s was a historical result of context in that era, in which economic-beings concerned about their own existence. While conceptualizing the world as a equipment-world, the changes of equipment also represent changes of the world. Finally, in the world for chasing the economy, the views on life-world about home, Taiwan, and both sides of the strait have also changed. |
