Abstract
While the issues of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and gender differences have been extensively, investigated respectively, little literature has examined how different genders of social entrepreneur influence their actions and decisions. Therefore, this paper studies the relationships among gender differences, promotion and prevention focus and economic oriented activities and social oriented activities. This research included a survey, composed of two sets of surveys regarding the state of individuals’ chronic regulatory foci, as well as demographics and the information of social enterprises. 95 social enterprises’ funders, CEOs or senior managers participated in the study. The quantitative analysis of the survey was conducted through descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, factor analysis, and a multiple linear regression in order to indicate the direction and relationship among variables. To conclude, This study found gender differences itself do not have a significant tendency to both regulatory foci and may have no difference in decision-making or actions taken in the company, but the different degrees of individual's regulatory foci can lead to different tendencies of actions and decisions, and then affect their behaviors.
